The New York Times has learned that Natalia V. Veselnitskaya attended a meeting at Trump Tower last year to meet Trump officials with the hope that she would interest them with the material she had about the Democratic Party. She further had some damaging information about Hilary Clinton that would jeopardize her presidency. This meeting took place in June 2016. However, Natalia V. Veselnitskaya has constantly insisted that she acquired the information from her research as a lawyer. She refuses any suggestion that she was given the information by the Russian government. However, it has become apparent that Natalia V. Veselnitskaya attended meetings with a top Russian government official where they would discuss the content of the memo. The official being referenced here is Yuri Y. Chaika who was a federal prosecutor back then. As a matter of fact, the memo that she presented to the Trump campaign officials is similar to another document that had been given to an American congressman by Mr. Chaika’s office. This information was uncovered after a series of interview with people familiar with the case. In fact, the two documents even contained paragraph verbatim. The coordination between Natalia V. Veselnitskaya and the Russian prosecutor general further proves that the lady is not telling the truth.
The meeting with the Trump officials involved the likes of Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, then campaign manager Paul J. Manafort and Donald Trump Jr., the son of President Trump. This further confirms that the arrival of the lawyer from Russia was based on some facts unlike the suggestion by Donald Trump Jr. that she arrived on mere puffery. This comes a week after Natalia V. Veselnitskaya said that some of the Democratic donors were guilty of serious federal offenses such as tax evasion and financial fraud. These are charges that have been embraced by top Russian officials with Vladimir Putin echoing these charges last month in length when he was addressing a conference that had been attended by western scholars. At the same time, a state-run TV network in the country produced a documentary touching on the two issues. A Russian expert known as Stephen Blank had reasons to believe that the comments by Natalia V. Veselnitskaya were organized from the top. Mr. Blank also happens to be a fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council located in Washington. This Trump Tower has been of special interest to special counsel Robert S. Mueller.
